RSLOS

RSLOS - Relocatable Sea Level Observation System

A new joint project between the Dalhousie Oceanography Dept. and CHS was recently introduced. RSLOS is a system that allows for sea level data collection without requiring a structure (hut) to contain the tide gauge. Since less work is needed to install the new system, gauges can be placed in non-permanent locations. This is ideal for research, as the lower cost makes studies more viable.

As of date, relocatable gauges have been installed in the following locations within Atlantic Canada.

  • Fogo Island, NL
  • Bay Bulls, NL
  • Shediac Bay, NB
  • Digby Ferry Wharf, NS
  • Wood Islands Ferry, PEI
